Fresh attacks have been heard near the Fordo nuclear enrichment site, buried deep underground, reports stated. An Iranian media outlet, Nour News, which is close to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has reported on its Telegram channel that two explosions were heard in the area near the Fordo site. Meanwhile, Israel has admitted that Iran has also launched missiles.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a call from his Israel counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu amidst the rising tensions between Israel and Iran. Modi confirmed his interaction with the Israel PM through a social media post on X.

Iran has confirmed the death of General Amir Ali Hajizadeh in the Israeli strikes overnight as the tensions continue between the two nations, AP reported. On June 13, Israel had launched airstrikes targeting key Iranian nuclear and military sites. 

Iran has issued a harsh warning to both Israel and the United States after Israeli airstrikes targeted key nuclear and military sites in Tehran. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed “severe punishment” for Israel, while blaming the US for enabling the attacks. Tehran declared it has a “legitimate right” to retaliate and warned the US would be “responsible for consequences,” signalling a potential escalation in the volatile Middle East region.

In a rare public disclosure, Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad released dramatic footage showcasing its covert operations deep inside Iran. The footage includes scenes believed to show two undercover agents launching missiles from within Iranian territory, part of a broader Israeli offensive targeting the country’s ballistic missile infrastructure and air defense systems, as per a report by The Times of Israel. 

On Friday, President Donald Trump once again urged Iran to reach a nuclear deal with the United States, warning that attacks “will only get worse” if diplomatic efforts fail. Speaking amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Trump emphasised the urgent need for a diplomatic solution but did not rule out the possibility of military strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

In a bold and high-stakes military move, Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion” on Friday, targeting critical components of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, missile systems, and military command. The operation, described by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “a very successful opening strike,” reportedly led to the deaths of several senior military commanders and nuclear scientists. Netanyahu stated that the offensive directly hit the core of Iran’s nuclear enrichment efforts, signalling a serious escalation in the ongoing tensions between the two nations. “We are after a very successful opening strike. With God’s help, we are going to have many more achievements,” Netanyahu said.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed it is in contact with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) following the crash of Air India Flight AI171, which went down just minuted after taking off from the Ahmedabad Airport. The flight was bound for the London Gatwick Airport.

The Israeli military on Friday confirmed it had carried out a “widespread attack” on Iranian air defence infrastructure, destroying dozens of radar installations and surface-to-air missile launchers in western Iran. The operation comes amid mounting tensions following Israel’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear and military sites earlier in the day.

Despite a dramatic escalation in Middle East tensions following Israel’s major military operation against Iran early Friday, the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has confirmed that Iran’s core nuclear sites remain intact.
