Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz delivered a stark warning to Iran on Saturday, threatening that “Tehran will burn” if missile attacks on Israel continue. Katz’s comments followed Iran’s overnight missile barrage in retaliation for Israeli strikes that targeted Iran’s nuclear program on Friday morning.

Thai actor-singer Ruangsak Loychusak, who survived the Thai Airways Flight TG261 crash in 1998, has shared a haunting coincidence. He discovered that Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the sole survivor of the recent Air India crash in Ahmedabad, also occupied seat 11A—the exact seat Ruangsak held during his own crash 27 years ago.

In a dramatic escalation of tensions in the region, Iran claimed on Friday that it had shot down two upgraded Israeli F-35 stealth fighter jets and intercepted several drones in retaliation for a deadly Israeli strike earlier that day. The strike reportedly killed several top Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians, including women and children. According to Tehran, the attack was carried out by what it referred to as the “Zionist regime”—a term commonly used by Iranian authorities to describe Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued an apology after posting a map on X that incorrectly depicted Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan. The map sparked backlash from Indian users who pointed out the error and demanded a correction.

Israel’s bold and unprecedented Operation Rising Lion has dealt a severe blow to Iran’s military leadership, killing some of the country’s most senior figures, including the nation’s top-ranking military officer, the head of the elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), its air force commander and a former national security chief.

In the wake of Israel’s pre-emptive strike on Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi confirmed that while there is no external radiological impact on the environment or surrounding population, however, the attack has caused internal radiological and chemical contamination at the site.

Iran retaliated on Saturday, June 14 by firing a barrage of ballistic missiles at Israel, following deadly Israeli strikes that claimed dozens of lives in Iran. Explosions lit up the skies over Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, shaking buildings and sending civilians fleeing for cover. 

Explosions rocked both Tehran and Tel Aviv overnight of June 14 as tensions surged in the region, marking a sharp escalation in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. The renewed violence follows Israel’s unprecedented strike early Friday on Iranian nuclear and military facilities, an attack that reportedly killed several of Iran’s senior military leaders. In retaliation, Tehran launched airstrikes on Israeli cities including the capital Tel Aviv, damaging more than a dozen buildings.

Fresh attacks have been heard near the Fordo nuclear enrichment site, buried deep underground, reports stated. An Iranian media outlet, Nour News, which is close to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has reported on its Telegram channel that two explosions were heard in the area near the Fordo site. Meanwhile, Israel has admitted that Iran has also launched missiles.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a call from his Israel counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu amidst the rising tensions between Israel and Iran. Modi confirmed his interaction with the Israel PM through a social media post on X.
